Yorkshire Printing

Yorkshire is the largest county in the United Kingdom; it’s a very historic and cultural county. Nicknamed god’s own county mainly because of the vast areas of open countryside largely in the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds, Yorkshire is a place of tradition and heritage. The flag of Yorkshire is a white rose on a dark blue background and after use for many years was only officially recognised by the FlagInstitute in 2008.

The main historic industry in West Yorkshire was the wool and textile industry which today is almost non existent in the region but there are still places that show the signs of a booming industrial past. Towns such as Bradford, Leeds, Huddersfield and Halifax were major players in the production and trade of textiles and it shows with many Mills still standing today although a large number have been converted into apartments or other industrial uses.

In South Yorkshire the main industries were coal and steel and although coal mining in the region is now gone, there are still many South Yorkshire villages that house lots of ex miners and their families.

Yorkshire Printing has always been a fair sized industry in the region, there are many large players within the industry who are based in Yorkshire as well as smaller print shops and individual print brokers. There is a good mixture of litho, web offset, digital, screen and large format printing companies in Yorkshire so buyers have a good selection of companies to choose from. Kolorco can supply all of the above printing processes so whatever your requirement, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
